There were separate races for different age groups, women's-only races, and even a race for kids under 10 years old. With cash prizes and pride on the line, racers were pushing their limits and some even ended up crashing but thankfully no serious injuries took place.
Victory Brewing Company was a hit with the crowd, providing a few of their current beer selections and delicious BBQ sandwiches.
Conicelli also brought out a few brand new cars of interest for racers and fans to check out, including the all new Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius, and Nissan NV Passenger Van.
Between the excitement of bicycle racing, beautiful sunny weather, good people, excellent food and beverage, and the efforts of the event sponsers, the first-ever Norristown Bicentennial Bike Race was a success and will hopefully be back for many years to come.
