The 2013 Honda Accord Sedan, which has been completely redesigned and was just released in September, features technology and safety innovations that place the Accord at the top of its class once again. The 2013 Accord is powered by an array of Honda's Earth Dreams powertrains, including the first U.S. application of the next-generation Honda VTEC engine -- now featuring direct fuel injection for the first time. The new engines are mated to either a new 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a CVT (continuously-variable transmission), depending upon the trim level. The new powertrains allow the Accord to boost miles per gallon by as much as 3 MPG over last year's models, according to Honda.

Other new Honda technologies include the first use of the all-new cloud-based HondaLink system, which lets drivers put away their smartphones and still stay connected to the people, music and social media they love. Another groundbreaking technology is LaneWatch, which uses a camera in the passenger-side mirror to provide an enhanced view of the blind spot next to you when changing lanes.
