On Monday, March 4, 2012, Eastern Center for Arts & Technology in Willow Grove, PA will hold an Open House to showcase all 14 of its programs of study.
As part of the Open House, an all-electric Nissan LEAF and a Honda Insight Hybrid will be on display, courtesy of Conicelli Nissan and Conicelli Honda.
Matthew Conard, Lead Technician/Shop Foreman at Conicelli Honda (and an Eastern graduate) will present the vehicles, which were made possible through the help of Frank Boyle, Conicelli Honda Service Manager.
Throughout the Open House Conard and Joseph Tavani, Director for Honda Programs at Penn College of Technology, will be collaborating on a presentation of Honda green technology.
The Honda Insight Hybrid is a sporty 4-door hatchback and was one of the first hybrid vehicles on the market in 2000 and continues being produced and sold today.
According to Jack DePre, Service Manager at Conicelli Nissan, the LEAF is only available in major metropolitan areas. While only receiving the first vehicles several weeks ago, Conicelli has already sold three.
The all-electric Nissan LEAF is a 5-door electric hatchback that offers 99 MPG (gas equivalent) while achieving a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the first fully-electric vehicle to earn this distinction.
