New Arrival: 2012 Toyota Prius v at Conicelli Toyota

The new 2012 Prius v has officially hit Conicelli Toyota's lot. The Prius v is Toyotas latest creative innovation that includes a larger space, comfort, excellent fuel efficiency, and a new bolder look. Every exterior panel is different, and the new model is larger in every dimension.
The hood over the centrally located instruments is narrow, so the view forward is more open. To the side, the base of the side windows is more horizontal, while the rear is much boxier and enables a taller, single-piece rear window. With all of these changes the Prius v feels more open and roomier.
With the rear seatbacks down, Prius v offers 67.3 cubic feet of cargo space. By volume, that's equal to 98 paper grocery bags. With the seatbacks up, there's 34.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. Prius v, with its 60/40 split sliding reclining fold-down rear seats, gives you a variety of people and payload possibilities.
Available on Prius v is the Entune system, which is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services delivered via most smartphones and some feature phones.  Click here to find out more info about Entune.
The Pruis v gets 44 mpg city and 40 mpg hwy while sporting an aerodynamic design and powered by Hybrid Synergy Drive, Prius v delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, while producing low smog-forming emissions.

Conicelli's Tips To Prepare Your Car For The Winter

The leaves are changing and the weather's getting colder, that means winter is on its way. Conicelli has put together 10 different tips you can do to improve the protection of your car and the comfort and safety for you.

1. Get A Remote Starter- Winter can be brutally cold and no one wants to run out to turn on their car and heat it up. For your convenience you can install a remote starter, which allows you to start and warm your car from the comfort of your home.

2. Get Snow Tires- Snow tires are specifically engineered to get better traction during the winter and come in handy when low temperatures leave ice and snow on the roadways. If you do decide to get a set of snow tires, it is suggested that you put them on several weeks before winter actually gets here. That way you won't have to worry about rushing at the last minute when the forecast calls for a snow storm.
3. Paint Protection- The best way to combat snow and ice during the winter months is to spread rock salt along roads and sidewalks. However, this leaves little pebbles of salt and debri on the street that could end up damaging your cars paint job. In order to combat this Conicelli has a film that you can place over car, it is not even noticeable and it will keep your car protected.

4.Regular Car Maintenance- You should always keep your car maintenance up to date, but more importantly you should check and fix all maintenance problems with the coming winter months for your own safety.
  • Check the oil and get it changed if you need to, don't wait until its too late.
  • Check your brakes, this will keep you from slipping along the road and keep you and others safe.
  • Check your windshield wiper fluid, Conicelli reccommends a winter de-icer windshield wiper fluid.
  • Test your battery, batteries tend to die faster in the winter, so always make sure your battery is working.
5. Windshield Wipers- Make sure that your windshield wipers are doing the job and not just smearing water across your windshield. Wipers not working properly can put you at risk for an accident. It is best to test out your wipers during the first snow or rain to make sure they will make it through the winter.

6. Ice Scraper- Make sure you keep more than one ice scraper either in your house or in your car, just to be sure in case you lose one or need to help out a friend. Also for those even worse ice storms get a bottle of de-icing spray, so you can get out of the cold and into your warm car faster.
7. Supplies- You never want to get stranded without being prepared, so always keep blankets and an extra pair of winter clothes in your car. Other things you will want to keep in your car are:
  • Jumper Cables
  • Flashlights
  • Extra Batteries
  • Hand Warmers
  • Water
  • First Aid Kit
  • Dried Foods (Beef Jerky, Granola Bar, etc.)
8. Interior- To keep your car interior in great shape you should get all weather floor mats. These mats are designed for any weather condition and are especially useful in the winter. They do a great job of keeping all of the muck in one place and are easy to clean. Also make sure your windows are clean to improve your visibility and reduce your liklihood of steamy glass.
9. Warming Up Your Car- In order to keep your car running its best you don't want to leave it idling for too long. The most your car should idle to start warming up is 30 seconds to a minute because your car heats up faster when you start driving and warming the engine. This way you will save on gas and help maintain good performance with your car.

10. Winter Driving Tips- It is important to be very caucious when driving, but especially in the winter. Make sure you don't speed, keep a 4 to 5 second distance between you and the car ahead of you (depending on conditions), if you start to lose control of your car pump your brakes instead of slamming on them and most important is you must be aware of other drivers around you.

Most Foreign Cars Aren't All that Foreign

Many people think that all foreign cars such as Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Hyundai were made outside of the United States. There are at least 41% of foreign cars produced from these manufacturers that are either assembled or have american made parts in them. It's safe to say that the only thing foreign about these cars is their manufacturers names.
Five out of the top ten selling cars in the U.S. are "foreign" cars. Each one of those cars are 100% american made with its parts and assembled in the United States. Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Hyundai have a combined number of 13 manufacturing plants and have over 38,280 employees in the US.
Here are the locations for each manufacturing plant:
                 Toyota
  • Georgetown, Kentucky
  • Lafayette, Indiana
  • Princeton, Indiana
  • San Antonio, Texas
                 Honda
  • Marysville, Ohio
  • East Liberty, Ohio
  • Greensburg, Indiana
  • Lincoln, Alabama
                 Hyundai
  • Montgomery, Alabama
  • West Point, Georgia
                 Nissan
  • Smyrna, Tennessee
  • Canton, Mississippi
  • Decherd, Tennessee
At Conicelli, we are proud to support and sell "foreign" cars just as much as domestic companies, such as Ford. We offer many american made "foreign" cars at our Conicelli dealerships such as: Conicelli Hyundai's, Conicelli Toyota's, Conicelli Honda's, and Conicelli Nissan's.
